Maker Project Success Rates

So... ship more!

This very bad graphic caught my attention on Twitter today... it is by someone I never followed (but should - & do now) @levelsio showing his Maker style projects and tallying up his success rate - 5% - Ouch!

But it made me think... a year or two back I counted up how many SW dev teams I've been a part of... got a list some where. As best that I could remember and figure it's that same order of maginatude (appr 50 - 100 teams). Then I started pondering... (you know where this is going to end up - right!).

I'm currently working Indie-preneur style on my 2nd iOS App. It's scheduled to release in the App Store ... Tax Day 2027. A better mouse trap (but we don't use that phrase around the dojo - it's a Best in Class Long-Term Investing Portfolio Tracking (fin-tech) startup App.

In my previous incarnation I was way into Agile Software Development and spent quite a lot of time learning and sharing knowledge in that ever expanding sphere... I even call my self a Team Crafter... Builder/Maker. So what do you think my success rate would be...

I could guess... but I could also do just enough walking with Malibu (my dog) ... and we could arrive at a decent approximation based on some "objective criteria"... let's wait for it...

Agile Team Building Success Rate:

In the mean time... maybe go get @levelsio's Maker Handbook - I hear it is a great read.
