New Keyboard & Battery for MacBook

My 2016 MacBook Pro needed a new Keyboard and Battery - iFixIT

I ordered parts from IFIXit.com and got the tools there also. Because they have great customer-written step-by-step GUIDES for just about everything.

Now they didn't have a specific guide for the top-case keyboard unit replacement. But the battery replacement guide was enough to get there.... only a few things beyond the battery (fans, back hinge air vents, keyboard ribbon cable, etc.).

Here's my finished repaired MacBook with its cover off... I'm amazed at how tiny they can make a screw. The organizer is labeled with the step # from the iFixIt Guide. I put the screws and cover plates in this to keep them straight.

I only had a few leftovers - and stripped only ONE thread out on the case.

What I did that was *brain-dead* was I put the motherboard back in without retrieving and installing the keyboard connector ribbon cable from the old part. So I got in some extra practice with super nat-sized screws.

You also have to take the touch ID sensor from the old part and put in the new case. I remembered to do this - but not the keyboard cable.

If you do this - good luck - took me about 10-12 hrs.
